I found out about this Finish-A-Long (FAL) at Lucy’s Charm About You blog. Lucy is one of the hosts. I think it is a great motivation to commit to finish your unfinished project in in each quarter of the year or at least to try to finish them. There is no punishment if something on my list is unfinished. All qualifying finishes will be put into a prize draw with gifts from great sponsors.
You can read all about this FAL and how to join it if you click on the pic below:
What do I aim to finish in Quarter 1? I don’t have too many unfinished projects but they still take time.
Here is my short list below:
1. Currently working on Trip around the World which was started at Kaffe Fassett’s and Brandon Mably’s workshop back in September 2016. Two blocks on the left were designed by me under their very slight supervision. Two blocks on the left were designed just by me last weekend at home. Light is not very good on the right blocks because the design wall is not in very light place in the flat, but it is as colourful as two blocks on the right.
I am not planning to make more blocks (nine blocks are in the original quilt), because I don’t have enough fabrics left and I don’t really need a huge quilt. So four block are more than enough to cover myself on the sofa in front of TV. Can’t actually wait! Need to piece two recent blocks, sew all of them together, quilt and bind.
2. These two kitty blocks have been around since last April. Kitten Around Block pattern is by Michael Ann. I need to make the third kitty and put them all together into one mini quilt.
3. Slalom Quilt from the workshop with Jenny Haynes.
It needs to be quilted and binded. However… this purple bias binding is sewn to the top all over the place (can’t see it on the pic), so might have to resew it. It will take longer in this case.
4. Amy Butler Belle Jelly Roll Quilt. It has been on my list since last summer but only one log cabin block has been sewn so far.
I think that’s it for Quarter 1.
Doing couple of other quilt alongs this year but cannot include them on the list because they won’t be finished by the end of the quarter.
