Hi folks!
I have finally finished two quilts made from two of my patterns – Cat Silhouette and Birdie! This blog post is basically a continuation of one of my previous posts where I introduce the patterns.
First finished quilt is Catryoshkas:
I have five cats and I decided to quilt each of them differently. First two blocks ( from left to right) are quilted with walking foot. Last three block are quilted with free motion foot.
I like improv scrappy backing as it’s a great scrap/stash buster!
I also used a new for me binding method that is called No Binding Binding or Faced Binding. Check a wonderful tutorial by Victoria Getenbach!
Second finished quilt is Cats & Birds. I also jokingly call it Cats and their dinner or Birds and their victims 🙂
Here I used also both free motion and walking feet for quilting, but mostly free motion foot 🙂
Even more scrappy improv backing here! It’s sort of double-sided quilt.
And again No Binding Binding or Faced Binding. However I made binding strips more narrow here compared to my previous Catryoshkas quilt, 1.5″ instead of 2″. I think I like it this way more.
That’s it for now.
Thanks for scrolling/reading till the end 🙂
See ya!
