Today I went to my 2nd London MQG meeting. It happens once a month in a great historic pub The Star Tavern in Belgravia.
It was good to be around lots of lovely quilters and to see what they made.
Here is a random selection from Show & Tell:
I didn’t bring anything to show I’m afraid, because weirdly enough I wasn’t even thinking about it… and yes I could have brought my zipper pouches or Slalom Quilt top I made after the workshop with Jenny Haynes.
Here is my Slalom quilt top:
We also received a few Liberty scraps for 2017 quilt challenge called ‘Make Liberty Modern’. Each of us has to make a quilt of only these particular scraps by July. It is allowed to add any other fabrics apart from Liberty to complete the quilt that has to be at least 24″x24″. Plus there has to be at least one piece of repurposed fabric. So I am already thinking of stealing one of my husband’s old shirts!
The most terrifying here is that we cannot use a ruler while making the quilt! Eeek!
No matter what, I’m sure that this modern challenge is going to be fun and I’ll be fine.
This is an example of an improvisational one:
And these are my 9 scraps, roughly 4.5″x 6.5″ each:
Brainstorming creative process has started.
Watch this space for further updates.
